Safe in my sin.
I'm sure many of you have read the reports of the movie massacre that occurred last evening. I'm sure you, like me, wonders what possesses people to do such things. It's heart breaking, it's disgusting, and it's enough to make us shake our heads.
And then we continue to overeat, speed to our next appointment, or call our BFFs and talk about so-and-so's issues. We might tell our people that they look ok in things that make them look hideous. We feel fine watching tv shows that rot our souls and minds and call it entertainment. Because we are all safe in our little sins--certainly they are not as bad as this one, or that one, or the other BIG ones.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
All have sinned. All of us have things that we want to keep hidden from the world. All of us struggle with daily transgressions. It serves us no good to sit on a Throne that doesn't belong to us. Instead of passing judgement and blowing up our Facebook statuses, let's use this time for prayer.
Prayer for the families affected, prayer for their community, prayer for the offender, and prayer for ourselves and the offenses we are each dealing with.
My heart is heavy this morning.
Thank goodness this world is not our home.
