Santa

Molly asked me today at lunch:  "Do you think Santa's real?"

I gulped and continued to take the mail to the living room.

I said, "What do you think?"

She said, "I think so."

I said, "Well, I think he's real."

She said, "Me, too."

Whew.

I'm not ready for this.  I'm not ready for this.  I'm not ready for this.

  1. It was a sad sad day around here when Annagrace found out about Santa. I felt like a part of her childhood was just GONE. Ugh. Tonight I realized that it won't be long and we are going to have to buy....I don't even want to say it....a training bra. DOUBLE, TRIPLE UGH!!!!

  2. @Laura: As of right now, I think we still have 2 Santa believing girls in the house. She hasn't mentioned it again--and if she does we'll deal with it then. I also used it as a good "What if someone at school tells you Jesus isn't real" discussion later in the afternoon and that if anyone ever tells her something that she isn't sure is true she is to come home and ask me or Chris.

The idea of bra shopping or even worse (in my opinion) eventually feminine product shopping makes me want to bury my head in the sand.

Oh girl, I'm not ready for ANY of it. I'm so sorry our girls are growing up--but at the same time it's exciting, too. Just keep telling yourself that--and I'll do the same and maybe eventually we'll believe it! ha!!!
